ORIGIN OF WTOWN

Gubei water town is located in the Gubeikou Town of Miyun District, Beijing and at the foot of the Simatai Great Wall. Gubeikou has always been known because of its complicated landscape and its military significance. The local history of Miyun has it that the northern gate of the capital is made up of Songting, Gubeikou and Juyongguan, among which Gubei is the most important.

The local history of Miyun has that the northern gate of the capital is made up of Songting, Gubeikou and Juyongguan, among which Gubei is the most important.

Gubeikou attracted many literates for its unique military culture. Su Zhe, Liu Chang and Nalanxingde wrote many well-known poems and passages here. Emperor Kangxi and Qianlong also praised Gubeikou with lines like "At the throat of the region is Gubeikou. It is like a heavenly lock on the northern gate of the country".

Gubei Wtown digs deep into the Simatai culture and divides the 9 km2 vacation resort into six zones and three valleys, namely the old military site, Republic of China, water street, Wolongpu folk culture, Tanghe ancient village, guesthouse; Houchuan Buddhism valley, Yidian valley and Yunfeng Cui Valley.

Gubei Wown is a comprehensive destination for leisure and tourism, with a wide range of services and facilities, such as sightseeing, leisure, business exhibition, creative culture. The resort boasts beautiful Ming and Qing Dynasty-style mountain courtyard architecture covering 430,000 square meters, including three theme hotels, four boutique hotels, 23 guest houses, a total of 956 rooms, more than 10 cultural display experience areas, featured shops and restaurants and perfect supporting services.

The night view of the town is among the top in Beijing. In 2016, we focused on developing the eight interesting recreational activities for night tour at the Great Wall: climbing (climbing the Simatai Great Wall with a lantern in your hand), tasting (having dinner beside the lake), watching (taking boat in the lake), appreciating (bathing in hot spring under the starry sky), listening (water dancing performance), staying (staying at the foot of the Great Wall), playing (water-themed activities) and drinking (sipping wine on the mountain top).

The Wtown in northern China is becoming a new symbol of night tours in Beijing, attracting more and more people from home and abroad to spend their vacation. It is also a paradise for photographers and foodies.
